In February 2010 the ability for IT departments in UK police forces to procure storage, backup and software technology quickly and efficiently through the Devon and Cornwall Procurement Framework will end.
EMC and Dell have developed a unique solution for UK Police IT Departments to utilise budget and operational efficiency prior to the end of Devon and Cornwall Agreement.
In February 2010 the ability for IT departments in UK police forces to procure storage, backup and software technology quickly and efficiently through the Devon and Cornwall Procurement Framework will end.
This may mean that IT departments will have to spend more time going through procurement cycles and less time addressing IT delivery and management.
Realising the potential short and medium term issues that the end of Devon and Cornwall Framework may cause EMC and Dell have teamed up to deliver a series of product offerings with reduced cost to the UK Police Market Place, while offering free of charge half day health check meetings to forces to understand how best to apply use these price reductions.
The aim is that our reduced price or deferred payment options will allow UK Police Forces to purchase required backup and storage for 2010 within the Devon and Cornwall agreement ending timescales.
How EMC and Computercenter can help
Utilisation of the Devon and Cornwall Framework Agreement from EMC and Computercenter provides significant discounts on all EMC Storage, Backup and related products. It also allows UK Police Forces to take advantage of these product discounts via EMC’s financing options. This will allow forces to purchase product prior to March 2010 and then be invoices in the following year’s budget.

Today an ever-increasing number of crimes leave digital evidence somewhere. The handling and analysis of digital forensic evidence must be managed with speed, precision and perfect security if it is to stand up to scrutiny in a court-of-law.
The Emc & Dell Digital Forensic solution helps ensure critical data is appropriately handled, and provides enhanced security to preserve digital evidence far beyond the current practice of backing up to DVD.
